A Short History About The Atlanta Botanical Garden
In 1973, a group of civic-minded Atlantans had proposed that a botanical garden be established in the city. Three years later, the Atlanta Botanical Garden, Inc. was incorporated and the garden officially opened its doors.
In 1983, 50,000 people had visited the garden and since then, the Atlanta Botanical Garden has been one of the favorite destinations in the city. For 2020, the garden has been busy with the holding of the biennial flower show “Expressions”, the opening of the new Ada Mae Pass Ivester Children’s Garden, and the presentation of the summer exhibition by Jason Gamrath “Through the Looking Glass: Alice’s Wonderland Reimagined and Glass Art”.
What To Do And When To Go
The Atlanta Botanical Garden is a place where your entire family can truly enjoy. You will see the plant collections and amazing displays and exhibits in the 30 acres of outdoor gardens. You can visit their Children’s Garden, Storza Woods, Canopy Walk, and Skyline Garden. The Gainsville garden, which opened in 2015, features North Georgia’s exquisite landscapes combining nature and culture.
The Management of the Atlanta Botanical Garden has posted a statement on their official website indicating that the garden is open every Tuesday to Sunday at 9am to 9pm. Moreover, all guests and visitors must wear masks and should have with them member reservations or timed tickets.
